CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. — A drug and firearms investigation led the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit to a home in Clackamas County where they found 337 firearms, including machine guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition and high capacity magazines along with methamphetamine.
“This massive firearms seizure comes on the heels of another large-scale investigation in June, when deputies recovered 44 firearms at a Gresham home. The number of illegal guns in our communities is staggering and underscores the challenge we face as a community against gun violence,” Undersheriff Nicole Morrissey-O’Donnell said.
The seizure happened while a search warrant was being served at an undisclosed residence on July 29th. It’s considered the largest weapons seizure in agency history. Arrests and charges are expected in connection to the illegal weapons cache.
“We will continue our efforts to curb gun violence, to create safe and thriving communities for all who live, work and recreate in Multnomah County,” Undersheriff Morrissey-O’Donnell added.
