2022-2023 School Year Underway In Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — It’s back to school day for tens of thousands of students in and around Portland. For a lot of kids, students and staff, it probably feels pretty normal. The pandemic threw everything into chaos and sent most kids home for distance learning.
Last year, most students started the school year back in-person but all while COVID-19 cases were still spiking. This year, cases are back down and masks are mostly optional.
PPS and other local school districts ask for drivers to take caution as little ones make their way to and from school on foot, bikes or buses.
