10-Year-Old Portland Girl Drowns In Columbia River Near Hood River

PORTLAND, Ore. – A 10-year-old Portland girl drowned in the Columbia River Wednesday.
The Hood River Sheriff’s Office says the child wasn’t wearing a life jacket when she fell out of an inflatable raft at Nichols Boat Basin.
She was found about 3 hours later in about 10 feet of water.
