Wage Transparency

Salem Ore – Among the new state laws that take effect Friday is one that makes it okay to discuss who makes what at your work. The new law makes it illegal for an employer to discipline employees for inquiring about the wages of other workers or disclosing their own wage publicly. If an employee is disciplined for asking about or discussing wages they can file a complaint with the state labor bureau. The law is meant to help close the pay gap between men and women.
