The Portland Police Bureau's Special Emergency Response Team was scrambled out to Powell Boulevard for a case involving gunshots Thursday afternoon, police said. Officer Cathe Kent said the team was responding to a call in the area of Southeast 120th Avenue and Powell Boulevard involving a man and woman arguing that ended with at least one gunshot a little after 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Powell Boulevard was closed from 112th Avenue to 122nd Avenue after witnesses told police that a man and a woman got into an argument, the woman drove away and the man chased her car on foot with gun shots soon being heard, Kent said. Kent said both the man and woman left the area, but a single bullet casing was found. The woman was driving a silver Mercedes. Police set up a perimeter around the area looking for the shooter. Anyone with information about the case should call Portland police.
