Two Oregon State baseball players were among three men arrested on accusations they fired guns at a house in Corvallis. Police arrested Jorge Reyes, John Wallace and former player Anton Maxwell this week. Investigators said they were seen using a rifle to shoot soda cans in Maxwell’s backyard on Tuesday. Some of the bullets hit a nearby home. A student who lives there said one bullet went through his bedroom window and landed on his bed. Three others hit a parked car. Reyes is a starting pitcher for the two-time defending national champion Beavers. He was last year’s Most Outstanding Player in the College World Series. Wallace has started eight of Oregon State’s 13 games this season. Maxwell was drafted by the Texas Rangers in last year’s MLB draft, but released in December. The suspects were cited and released from custody after cooperating with police, a Corvallis police spokesman said. District Attorney John Haroldson of Benton County said he will review the case before filing formal charges. Baseball coach Pat Casey declined comment when contacted by the Corvallis Gazette-Times.
