A Suspicious Death On Portland’s Westside

PORTLAND, Ore.–  Around 8:15 this morning Portland Police were called to the 4900 block of Southwest Barbur Boulevard on the report of a deceased person down a hillside.  Officers and Portland Fire and Rescue arrived and confirmed the person was dead.  Homicide detectives, Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence division and the Medical Examiner responded to conduct a death investigation.

A major challenge for crews was the steep hillside covered in underbrush and blackberry vines.  Fire crews had to use heavy rope to  make their way to the body. the medical examine was expected to do all the testing necessary at the scene.  Then firefighters would raise the body up and remove it from the scene.
