Brett is now the KXL and Alpha Media PM traffic reporter. You’ll hear him throughout the midday during Markley and Van Camp and Lars Larson, and every 10 minutes on the 7’s during Portland’s Afternoon News from 4:00 to 7:00. Brett also anchors for Portland’s Morning News and provides news stories and content throughout the day.
Reckamp arrived at KXL in May of 2012 after serving as Program Director for KERN, KGEO & KERI in Bakersfield, CA. He began his radio career at KLIF in Dallas, TX and first came to Portland in 1989, working for 620 KGW. His radio career includes stops at KBOI & KTIK in Boise, ID where he provided news and covered the Boise State Broncos football team extensively throughout the 2000’s. Reckamp co-founded and hosted the golf show Tee Time on the Ticket for 8 seasons and co-founded and served as Executive Producer for the Nate Shelman Show.
Brett is a Columbia School of Broadcasting grad (’89) and long-time radio fan. An unabashed Fantasy Football Geek, he lives in SW Portland and spends most of his free time with his wife Debbie and their 9-year-old son Keenan.
