Salem Woman Dies When Car Crashes Through Her Home

SALEM, Ore. (KGW) –A Salem woman is dead after a Mercedes SUV rammed into her Salem residence Monday night, according to officials.

Srabonti Haque, 36, was asleep in a bedroom of her residence at 502 Sussex Ave. SE and was struck by the vehicle as it plowed through the home at around 9:25 p.m.

Alan Patrick Jacobs, 54, was driving his SUV southbound on Volcano St SE when he made a wrong turn, according to a statement released by Salem Police Department.

Jacobs turned onto southbound instead of eastbound on Volcano Street, a steep downhill street that abruptly ends at Sussex Avenue SE, and almost completely drove through the home.

Haque’s husband and two children were in the home at the time, but were not injured.

Salem Police has not made any arrests in connection to the incident. The case is still under investigation.
