Hiker Dead After Fall in the Gorge
By Christina Kemp
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says a hiker fell to his death from a trail in the Columbia River Gorge around 10 a.m. on August 31.
29-year-old Michael Sigler was hiking with a companion on the Angel's Rest Trail when he stepped on a rock and fell more than 70 feet. Recovery crews worked most of the day to recover the body.
Officials are looking into whether alcohol played a role in his fall.
