68 Years Later...It Was Still The Right Thing To Do...
Today, we mark the 68th anniversary of the dropping of two atomic bombs on Japan during World War II to end that war with Japan.
In Japan, they marked the moment with sadness. It was somber, and they suggested that the rest of the world should get rid of its nuclear weapons.
President Obama is well on his way to accomplishing that. He has voluntarily downsized our nuclear arsenal, and he refuses to spend money to modernize it.
And yet, Japan and some of our other allies absolutely depend on the fact that we have those nuclear weapons.
The fact is World War II ended quickly in Japan because we dropped those two atomic bombs. 1 MILLION casualties were avoided on America's side.
The Japanese can continue to act like victims, but the fact is they started the war with the United States, and the nuclear weapons ended the war.
It was the right thing to do...
