A nationwide sex trafficking operation rounded up hundreds of pimps and their teenage victims. Two teens were rescued and four pimps arrested in Portland over the weekend.
"Operation Cross Country 7" was the FBI’s largest sting recovering sexually exploited children. More than 100 teens were rescued during raids in over 75 cities. The youngest were 13-years-old. The rescue of those teens also involved a baby.
150 pimps involved in the commercial exploitation of children and adults were nabbed. 13 women will likely be charged with prostitution.
"Child prostitution remains a persistent threat to children across America. The FBI remains committed to stopping this cycle of victimization and holding the criminals who profit from this exploitation accountable," said Ron Hosko, assistant director of the Criminal Investigative Division.
