Oregon Brewer's Festival a Success!
Did you attend this year's Oregon Brewer's Festival? If so, you helped set a record. Organizers tell me 85,000 people attended over the five days. That is a record. The busiest day was Saturday. The festival opened a day early this year, on Wednesday, extending the festival to five days. The goal, organizers say, wasn't to attract more people, but to spread the people out. In fact, more people came on Wednesday then on Sunday.
The second change to the festival was the use of glass tasting mugs instead of plastic. They cost a dollar more, but I heard no complaints from my friends and organizers didn't hear any complaints either. They plan on using glass next year as well.
Did you attend the festival? What was your favorite beer? I went on Wednesday, and should've taken better notes because I can't remember the names of any of the beers I tried! I do like IPAs so gravitated towards those. But with over 80 beers on tap it was impossible to try them all! Maybe if I'd gone on all five days! Next year! :-) Lacey
