A high speed chase ends in North Portland with a man behind bars after police tried to pull over a Chevy Suburban for speeding.
Portland Police say the man, 41-year-old August Lockwood eventually stopped the car around 82nd and Killingsworth. That's when he jumped in the back and the officer busted through the large back window to make the arrest. Police recovered drugs and a loaded gun.
Lockwood faces charges of second-degree assault, delivery of marijuana, felon in possession of a firearm, attempt to elude by vehicle, reckless endangerment and reckless driving. He was lodged at Multnomah County Jail, his bail has been set at $40,000. His passanger in the car, 27-year old Cynthia Ann McCraw, was arrested on suspicion of probation violation and also booked into Multnomah County Jail.
