Bond's Lotus Esprit Submarine Car For Sale
James Bond's classic 1977 Lotus Esprit has been driving through young boy's (and probably some grown men's too) dreams for years. The car grabbed everyone's attention in "The Spy Who Loved Me" for driving off a dock and into the water where it functioned as a submarine.
And the best part is, you now have a chance to buy it... If you've got a spare million dollars laying around.
The cars current owner won it in a blind auction, after it was abandoned in a storage unit in Long Island, New York. The studio paid for a decade worth of storage but then forgot about it, making the buyers of a bargain deal very happy. Now that owner plans to sell it at an auction in London this September. The auctioneer says the car is expected to fetch $760,000. The studio says it cost around $100,000 to make into the fully functional submarine that you saw in the theaters.
