Summer Road Construction Begins
Crews getting ready to close the road
Warning TriMet riders of the re-route
By Pat Boyle
The summer road construction season is underway. One of the biggest projects has a main thoroughfare closed through part of Southeast Portland.
Cesar Chavez Boulevard/39th Avenue is closed for three weeks between Hawthorne and Division. You can get around using 50th Avenue, 11th or 12th. Only neighborhood traffic will be allowed through.
TriMet lines 75 and 66 are being
to Powell and 50th Avenue. Watch for signs marking temporary stops.
Some of the other summer projects include re-paving Interstate 84, the Division Streetscape project, Stephens Street Streetcar Turnback and the Southeast Clay Green Street Project.
The work will be completed by September, except for the Division Streetscape Project, which will take until next October.
