David Lee Camps Out On The BFT
Two-time NBA All-Star David Lee joined John Canzano on the Bald-Faced Truth Monday afternoon to talk about his career with the Golden State Warriors and his upcoming basketball camp.
“I think it’s really important; I went to camps growing up. It’s in New York, to keep a relationship with the fan base there is important to me. We have a great group that runs the camp, I stop by every day and work with the kids, we just have a good time.”
The “David Lee Basketball Camp,” in cooperation with Teaches Hoops
, is a chance for boys and girls age 7-16 to learn from a celebrated NBA player.
Lee said that camps were an important part of his growing up, and he wanted to pass the experience on to the next generation.
“The guy that was just starting to make it when I was growing up was Larry Hughes. I went to his camp when I was in
middle school. To have him come speak to the camp and to be around
meant so much to me, so I made myself a promise that if I ever made it,
I’d return the favor.”
When the talk turned to the NBA Finals, Lee gave his prediction:
the series started I said I thought the Spurs would win Game 1 and win
the series in six. I just think there’s something about how steady the
Spurs are. While Miami is an unbelievable team with the obviously best
player in the NBA, I still think the Spurs are going to pull it off in
