DUII Driver Causes Serious Accident
Traffic Division officers are continuing to investigate this morning's crash as
Southeast 20th Avenue and Madison Street.
Investigators learned that just
prior to the crash on Madison Street, a dark blue 1996 GMC Sierra pickup truck,
driven by 26-year-old Nathan William Wisbeck, crashed into a white 1998 Toyota
Corolla sedan, driven by 25-year-old Sapearya Sao. The crash occurred at
Southeast 12th Avenue and Morrison Street, and Wisbeck fled the scene of the
crash in his vehicle.
A passenger is Sao's car called 9-1-1 as they
followed Wisbeck for several blocks.
Wisbeck was eastbound on Madison
Street and drove through a stop sign at 20th Avenue, colliding with the
passenger side of a silver 2002 Ford Windstar Van, driven by 28-year-old Sarah
Grace Anderson, causing the van to roll onto the driver's side and crash into a
building on the southeast corner of the intersection.
Portland Fire &
Rescue personnel responded and were able to get Anderson and her passenger, a
28-year-old male, out of the vehicle and transported to a Portland hospital.
Anderson's injuries were traumatic but not life-threatening. Because she was in
the hospital, Anderson was given a citation for DUII.

being released until family can be located and notified.

All three vehicles were
towed from the scene and the intersection was reopened at 6:20
Wisbeck was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of
Assault in the Second Degree, DUII (Felony), Hit and Run, and Reckless Driving.
He will be arraigned on Tuesday in Multnomah County Court.
