Brevin Knight: Grizzlies Are Built For Playoffs
The 16th overall pick of the 1997 NBA Draft Brevin Knight, joined John Canzano on The Bald Faced Truth today to talk NBA playoffs and even to offer some much needed advice to college students who are part of the 2013 graduating class.
Brevin Knight was not shy at all when he made the rather bold statement that the Memphis Grizzlies
are built for the playoffs, “I saw this coming. I believe that this team [Memphis Grizzlies
] is built for playoff basketball, they played playoff basketball all year round, and without Russell Westbrook, the door was opened a little bit further for them [Memphis Grizzlies] to walk through.”
Knight also touched on the impact that Mike Conley is having on the Grizz this season, “He’s been a great leader on and off the court, once Rudy Gay was traded a lot was put on him [Conley] and Mark [Gasol] to step up their game offensively and I think they’ve done that. He’s [Conley] plays consistent on both ends and he’s [Conley] the one guy; that if you take him out of the equation, the Grizzlies can’t win games.”
Knight also shared some words of wisdom for the Class of 2013, “The biggest thing, is know your classmates. One thing that I look back on that I didn’t do a good job of at Stanford I was so focused on graduating and what job I’m going to get that I wasn’t friends with enough of my classmates. These are people that may go forward and do big things and those are people that you may be able to call too and see if they can help your career.”
