The group that gathered signatures to put a vote on fluoridating Portland's water on the May 21st ballot has cited evidence that arsenic and other toxins have been linked to contaminated fluoride chemicals in the city of Philomath in Benton County.
Clean Water Portland says the chemicals in question are a byproduct of fertilizer manufacturing known to contain arsenic, mercury and lead.
Volunteers walked through downtown today handing out information before ballots are mailed on Friday.
