Oregon Man's Crime Spree Ends in Bay Area
A man from North Bend, Oregon has been arrested in the Bay Area accused of a crime spree that included a murder, carjacking and a second attempt that went awry.
30-year-old Jeffrey Boyce is believed to be a sympathizer of the Boston bombings. His mother called police to say he'd been talking about the bombings, the Colorado movie theater shooting and Columbine and was ranting that the government was trying to get him.
Police say Boyce is linked to the death of a woman south of Reedsport in Douglas County.
A California television station says Boyce was heavily armed when he was arrested. He had a bulletproof vest, hundreds of bullets, six 30-round magazines and a .22 caliber rifle.
Police think he was headed to the Russian consulate in San Francisco to seek asylum.
