Buffs Steal Win Away From Ducks
Colorado scores the final eight points of the game, defeating Oregon 48-47, their third consecutive loss.
After dropping their last two on the road, the #19 Ducks were hoping to right the ship back in the friendly confines of Matthew Knight Arena, where they had won 20 straight games.
They appeared ready to do so, until a 4:29 long scoreless drought to end the game let the Buffs escape with the win.
After committing 20+ turnovers the last three games, Oregon limited themselves to only 4 against Colorado in the first twenty minutes, and it paid dividends, giving them a 28-23 lead at the half.
The Ducks were looser with the ball in the second half, committing seven turnovers. Couple that with a cold shooting streak, and a 47-40 lead was quickly erased over the last four minutes of the game.
Colorado took the lead when Andre Roberson recovered his own blocked shot and put it back up for the layup with 23 seconds remaining.
Oregon would have a chance to win the game with 8 seconds left. Singler received the ball out of the timeout but his long two was partially tipped by Spencer Dinwiddie and the Ducks dropped their third straight conference game.
Both teams shot 36% in the game, but Oregon was able to maintain their lead the majority of the game by out-rebounding the Buffs by a 34-25 margin. Oregon also grabbed 14 offensive boards.
Singler and Carlos Emory lead the Ducks with 14 points apiece. Arsalan Kazemi grabbed 11 rebounds.
Roberson was the only Buff in double digits, notching 10 points to go along with 13 rebounds.
Oregon falls to 1-3 without point guard Dominic Artis in the roster and now sits at 18-5 (7-3) on the season.
The Ducks host Utah next Saturday evening.
