Dreams of playing football on the big stage start when children are playing football as young kids and those dreams start to take shape through high school and become a reality on National Signing Day. Oregon State Beavers head coach Mike Riley joined the BFT to talk about the latest recruiting class and how that will impact the Beavers roster.
Major college football programs often times look at Junior College transfers as an opportunity to bolster the teams roster with players that are ready to contribute immediately. Coach Riley spoke with John about recruiting Junior College players.
"When we recruit a Junior College guy it's with the thought that these guys are going to be able provide us immediate help."
Every year provides each college a fresh opportunity to improve on the previous recruiting class. Riley is asked by John if he thinks this is his best recruiting class.
"I think it's our best overall group that we've had and gosh we got four exciting receivers all of them good football players, good speed."
Coach Riley and John also talk about recruiting high school football players in Texas and the progress the program has made that saw success with the Rodgers brothers.
