Pearson Air Museum Kicked Out

The operators of the Pearson Air Museum in Vancouver were given orders to move out of the space they've occupied for nearly a decade and hand over the keys.  They were reportedly given 45 days, but weren't taking chances.  Staff and volunteers began moving out the vintage displays on Tuesday.

The land owned by the National Park Service sits on Pearson Field, the oldest operating airport on the west coast.  After months of negotiations, both sides failed to reach a new agreement.  The parks service didn't renew the museum's lease and ordered an eviction. 

The museum operated by the Fort Vancouver National Trust featured planes from the early 20th Century and a flight simulator.  It has hosted about 100 events each year, mostly for charities.  Over 45 had already been scheduled in 2013.  The NPS is working with those groups to find them new locations.  It's unknown how the refunding of deposits will happen.
