Alaska Airlines
Alaska Airlines Flight 473 from Los Angeles to Seattle had to be re-routed to Portland Thursday night after the pilot collapsed during the flight.

Attendants went up and down the aisles asking for a doctor.  A fourth-year medical student spoke up an gave the pilot medical care.

He is a 28-year-veteran who apparently had suffered either food poisoning or flu-like symptoms.  He stayed in Portland and is reportedly doing much better.

The first officer safely landed the plane at PDX.  The passengers finally made it to Seattle early Friday morning.
