Body Found on Highway 6
Highway 6 was closed for several hours Saturday while Oregon Sate Police and the
Tilamook County Sheriffs Office investigated a death. Authorities say a woman was found dead along the highway about 18-miles east of Tilamook. She has been identified as 16-year old Kayla Hendrickson of Beaverton. OSP received a tip late Friday night of suspicious activity along the highway two-miles east of Jordan Creek Road. The witness told authorities that they saw a 90's full-sized pickup truck stopped on the side of the road. A man and women were seen on the north shoulder where the pickup was. The witness also spotted a commercial truck drive by. When the trooper arrived he found the deceased female. Authorities say an autopsy revealed Hendrickson was a victim of domestic violence and ultimately died of a gun shot wound. Police identified a man of interest in the case and said that man was found dead on the northern California coast. His name and connection to the 16-year old has not been released along with the motive. Authorities say he died of a self inflicted gun shot wound.
