The Oregon Ducks and Kansas State Wildcats are just one day away from battling each other in the Tostidos Fiesta Bowl in Glendale Arizona.  Joshua Kinder of the Manhattan Mercury joined Chad on Flight 750 Wednesday to preview the matchup and to talk about what makes Bill Snyder such a great coach.

Kinder explains that Snyder just has a knack for leading young men and making them believe in themselves.

“It all goes back to the disciplined way of coaching a football team.  He always talks about his 16 goals for success.  And there’s really not a whole lot to them other than what an individual would want for their kids…How to raise someone the right way, the value system…and his team has bought into it.  They really have bought into it.”

Kinder also talked about the way Snyder has managed to take poor talent and turned it into a top ten team.

“K. State hasn’t had a recruiting class in the top 50 in the country in years and yet they have 11 wins. So you have to have everyone buy in and really believe in it.”

Kinder also talked about what Kansas State must do, if they want to stop the Ducks.

“Defensively, they’ve got to play to their assignments.  They can’t start reaching and over-pursuing, which is really easy to do against a team like Oregon.  Oregon seems like they try to get everyone to bite, and as soon as you bite on something, you’re in trouble, and there’s no making up ground against a team as fast and as quick as Oregon.”
