Flier of his disappearance
It's been more than five days since a North Portland father of four left a bar and took a cab to a friend's apartment.
29-year-old Matthew McConnell-Hegland was with friends at the Twilight Room on Lombard. He hasn't been seen since being dropped off at the Pier Park Apartments on Columbia Boulevard around 1:30 on Saturday morning.
"It's really hard to not have your rock there when things are getting tough and it’s hard not being able to sit down and talk about our days," said his wife Ricci-Joan McConnell-Hegland.
He may be having a mental health crisis. Loved ones have been putting up missing persons fliers around the area. A group of a few dozen have helped the family search the area around Pier Park.
"Our fear is that he has somehow been hurt or is not in a normal state of mind to know how to get home safely," said sister-in-law Amy Gilkey.
