The
Arizona Wildcats 2011 season was not a good one as the school relieved Mike Stoops of his coaching duties before the season ended. Rich Rodriguez joined John Canzano on the Bald Faced Truth to talk about his first season as head coach of the Arizona Wildcats.
Coach Rodriguez delivered a winning record and a bowl berth in his first season walking the sidelines at Arizona. Coach Rodriguez spoke with John about a few games that the Wildcats let slip away.
"We won seven and had an opportunity to win three more that we had leads in the 4th quarter but we didn't get it done. I think we learned a lot I think our players did a great job buying into the system and we're really excited going forward."
The 7-5 record earned Arizona a bowl invitation to the
New Mexico Bowl where they'll face off against Nevada. Coach Rodriguez talked about the matchup with John.
"Our guys have a lot of respect for them they beat Cal, they got one of the best running backs in the country, one of the best running teams in the country. It's a challenge for us we had a hard time stopping people and we know what our issues are so hopefully we can execute."
John and Coach Rodriguez also talk about the future of the Pac-12 and studying film.
