Time For Americans To Get The Lump Of Coal They Asked For...
Too many Americans are demanding a lump of coal in their Christmas stocking. Last night, about 800 people showed up for a DEQ hearing…many if not most of them demanding that Oregon not allow exports of coal to customers in the East. This kind of insanity is going to hurt the whole country. Let’s consider the facts. The globe is cooling, not warming which is why the climate NUTS changed the name of their boogie man from global warming to climate change. The state of Oregon has already agreed to shut down the PGE coal electric plant at Boardman which makes cheap power to replace it with gold plated windmills and solar. The United States has a 300 year supply of this wonderful fuel and the technology to burn it cleanly. We have customers all over the pacific rim who want to buy coal from us and make jobs and taxes and a better balance of trade. We already ship hundreds of millions of tons of coal safely through the region and stories of mountains of coal dust by the tracks are simply not true. This crowd of fanatics opposing coal is the same bunch that has killed the timber industry, much of fishing, farming, mining and the kind of jobs that support families. I only want to ask…do you really want to freeze to death in the dark without a job?
