Heisman award weekend is upon us and when talking about the award there's nobody better to give perspective than a previous winner. 1984 Heisman Trophy winner and current NBC college football analyst Doug Flutie joined John Canzano on the Bald Faced Truth to talk about the award, his career and the Capital One Cup.

Doug Flutie has seen his career go from winning a Heisman Trophy to a long stretch playing professional football in the USFL, CFL and the NFL. Flutie is asked if he feels like his playing days were a long time ago.

"It really doesn't, I've had three different pro careers an NFL career up to Canada and one coming back. So I guess when I start honestly thinking about it you realize it is a long long time ago but the memories are so fresh, that the guys that we played together I still keep in touch with and it really doesn't seem that long ago to me."

The BCS National Championship game will see #1 ranked Notre Dame facing off against #2 ranked Alabama. Doug is asked who he thinks will win between the Fighting Irish and the Crimson Tide.

"I like Alabama to win but I'm not counting Notre Dame out, I've covered them all year and they've found ways to win, they've got a great defense to keep them in games."

Doug and John also talk about his time in the CFL and parenting children that play organized sports.
