Clark Kellogg Congratulates Kobe

Clark Kellogg was a star small forward for the Ohio State Buckeyes, earning All Big 10 Conference and MVP honors in 1982. And he went on to become a member of the 1983 All-rookie team for the Indiana Pacers. His career was cut short due to chronic knee problems and he has since become one of the best broadcasters in country. He joined Chad on Flight 750 Thursday to talk about his collegiate career and to share his insight on today’s NBA game.
Kellogg addressed the early success of Blazers rookie point guard Damian Lillard and what make him such a good point guard so early on in his career.
“Excellent change of pace, tremendous range, good athleticism – I mean, I think he’s a potential All Star player. It’s pretty obvious the way he’s been able to handle the first quarter of the season in terms of his individual play. He’s got a poise and a disposition that bode well for the future.”
Kellogg also addressed Wednesday’s milestone night for Kobe Bryant when he became just the fifth player ever to score 30,000 points. Kellogg spoke to what makes Bryant such a dynamic player.
“I think his skill set is terrific. You talk about footwork, shooting ability, ball handling – he’s got those in spades and he’ s worked to perfect them.
He also spoke to Bryant’s overall game and whether or not there is any area where he is less than great.
“I just don’t think there’s anything that’s considered a weakness in his game. He can make plays for himself, make plays for others, he’s a competitor defensively. I just don’t know if there’s really a chink in his armor as a basketball player.”
