A woman called 9-1-1 to report her adult daughter planned to kill herself by jumping into the Molalla River.  A Clackamas County Sheriff's deputy found the woman's car at Wagon Wheel Park and saw her jump in.  He ran to the bank and found her snagged in some branches.

He called to another officer to get the rope out of his trunk, lassoed her and tied the other end of the rope around his waist. He talked to her until fire crews arrived and told her there are people who can help her.

She responded saying she no longer wanted to die.  She's recovering at Portland Adventist Medical Center.
