Jordan Poyer Beavers cornerback joins The Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to discuss their loss against the Oregon Ducks at the Civil War. With the Beavers last game against Nichols State coming up Poyer will give us the in on upcoming possibilities for bowl games.

With the long standing rivalry between the Oregon Ducks and the Oregon State Beavers, tempers flare during Civil War week when all friendships are set aside players, coaches and fans throw everything they’ve got at the other team.

Poyer was not happy with the loss, but just like any loss sees it as a learning experience for next year. Most of the game was lost because of turnovers and Poyer sees it as a momentum killer during a game. Weather can become another issue with holding onto the ball and many of the Beavers players last Saturday could not do just that.

“You know the conditions or anytime you get a squib kick and that ball gets wet; it’s rolling on the ground and all it’s hitting is water and turf beads so when you pick it up it's slippery.”

Lots of things went wrong for the Beavers during the Civil War and the Beavers have moved past it already and are looking forward to dominating Nicholls State in next weekend’s game.

“It’s our whole season; you know if we don’t finish strong our season isn’t going to mean anything. We had a good practice today and are ready to finish out the rest of the season strong”.

Poyer believes that the Civil War was closer then the score showed. He and many of the other players believe that they could have beaten the Ducks and they hurt themselves with the last half of the game. They gave the Ducks many open opportunities and it hit them hard in the long run.
