Improperly Parked Truck Rolls Into School Bus

15 students in Gaston were on board their school bus when a parked truck rolled down a hill and crashed into the side of the bus on Highway 47 this morning. Both the truck and bus were totaled.

A 16-year-old student improperly set the truck's emergency brake, causing it to roll into southbound traffic at Park Street. He likely will not face charges.

The parents of one child took them to the hospital to be checked out. The other students were put on another bus and taken the remaining two blocks to school.
