Same Ol' Situation...
The same president and virtually the same old
house and senate in Washington DC. And
now we’re up against the old problem of a government that spends a trillion
bucks more than it takes in. This is not
the time for conservatives to compromise on raising taxes.
Two big reasons for that.
First, raising taxes retards the
economy. Ask any economist and he’ll
tell you, “if you want less of something, tax it”. Second, Washington has a spending
problem. Giving Harry Reid and Barry and
Nancy more money is like giving Jack Daniels to a drunk. It might make him feel better for a while but
in the end it just encourages him.
We
will hit the government’s borrowing limit, again, of 16 trillion dollars before
Christmas. And with the Marxist in
office for another four years, we’re on track to hit 20 trillion in total debt
by the end of his term. Interest rates
are low now…but if and when they pop up…well, at five percent, the interest on 20
trillion is a trillion dollars a year…about one third of the entire federal
budget.
