Ballot Tampering
An emergency meeting has been called by the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners to address the possibility of election fraud. The details have yet to be officially announced, but sources tell our news partner KGW that the person in question is a women who is believed to have marked Republican choices where voters otherwise left blank. Now Clackamas County Commissioners will hold an emergency meeting today to get to the bottom of the accusations. Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown has sent state officials as well as private security and a state trooper to watch over the election process in Clackamas County. Charlotte Lehan wrote in a statement:

"I am extremely concerned about the alleged ballot tampering that was discovered last Wednesday, less than a week before the General Election. Any allegation of ballot tampering erodes confidence in our democracy. Clackamas County voters need information on the potential extent of the problem now. We all need information immediately about the safeguards in place to prevent ballot tampering and the methods used to hire election workers and volunteers. Without additional information about existing safeguards and about the employee in question, it will be difficult for citizens to have faith in the process. If people lose faith in the process, they may simply choose not to vote."
It is unknown how many ballots have been tampered with. The meeting will take place at 9:00AM at the Public Services building in Oregon City.
