Recent protest at City Hall

Message to Portland City Hall: hold off on fluoride!

Clean Water Portland says it has gathered more than enough signatures to let voters decide whether to add fluoride to the city's drinking water.  They turned over the signatures today, one day ahead of schedule.

The group says it has collected nearly twice the 20,000 signatures that are needed.  They hope to put a referendum on the May 2014 ballot.  Voters have said no before to fluoride in Portland's drinking water three times.

City Council voted unanimously last month to add fluoride to the drinking water to help fight cavities.
