Smith recalls Oregon/Washington Rivalry

The Oregon Ducks/Washington Huskies football rivalry is arguably the second biggest in the state next to the Civil War between the Beavers and Ducks. Former Oregon Ducks QB Akili Smith joined the Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to talk about rivalry games and his career.

Akili and John talked about Smith's experience being drafted in the NFL by the Bengals and the transition from being a quarterback in college to playing at the NFL level.

"That was one of the biggest mistakes I probably made up to this point in my life" Akili says when talking about holding out due to a contract dispute with the Bengals.

Canzano and Akili also have a spirited discussion on rivalries and who the Oregon Ducks biggest rivals are.

"It's Oregon State number 1, Washington number 2 USC is not Oregon's rival and will never be Oregon's rival" Smith says when talking about Oregon's biggest rivalries.

Akili Smith and Canzano also discuss a mouthpiece that 750 The Game update anchor Fletcher Johnson acquired from Akili after a Ducks/USC game many years ago.
