A "To Do" List For The Food Stamp President
Since President Obey Me is visiting Oregon and
Washington today, I thought I would make up a list of the things he could do to
help the region…and I’m not talking about welfare.
Frankly, the Food Stamp President has done
far too much in that regard. I’d love it
if he’d propose drug testing of welfare recipients. That would get some dead beats off their
butts.
Rather than sending more charity
to timber dependent counties in Oregon, the President could support logging the
abundant Northwest forests to create jobs, and reduce our importing 40 percent
of the nation’s lumber supply.
He could
stop crazy subsidies for wind and solar and stop trying to shut down coal
exports that would put people here to work.
And Mr President, those businesses you drive by in your Limo on the way
to those big donations at the Oregon Convention center, the folks inside built
those businesses, not government; and
the roads you’re driving on, the airport you landed at...we bought and paid
for those too and you’d do well to remember that.
Next year you’ll be back in the private
sector. Since you’ve never built a
business in your life, it should be interesting to see what you can do.
