Joe Paterno announced Wednesday that he will retire at the end of this season.  But, the Board of Trustees could force him to step down sooner than that.  Joe Paterno's 46 year career is coming to an end because of allegations of child sex abuse by a former assistant coach.  Paterno and other school officials knew about the abuse and are accused of not doing enough to report it.
Joe Pa may not have the support of the school but he still has support among fans and players.  Some don't want him to retire.  What do you think?  It's unfortunate that he will likely be remembered for this, instead of his otherwise legendary career.
The football program is also expected to lose millions of dollars in donations and scholarships because of this.  Would you donate to your alma mater if it was rocked by a scandal like this?  What would it take for you to start donating again?
Out on the Nike campus in Beaverton there is a Joe Paterno Child Development Center.  Nike told John Canzano with our sister station 750 AM The Game that they are not going to change the name.
There will be a lot more fall out from this scandal and you can count on KXL to bring you the latest.
