Ground Zero 5/24/13 Hour 1
Some stories resonate for a reason and that’s why the ‘Star Wars‘ mythos is so intertwined with our cultural DNA. Tonight on Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis wraps up another anomalous week with the declaration of ‘Order 66: The Jar Jar Binks Diplomacy‘! |

Thinking Outside The Gift Box Series - Part 1
Remember when gift giving used to be fun? Pat Boyle has some alternative gift ideas. As a kid it was simple. I always bought dad a black plastic comb every Christmas and got mom a small bottle of Jergen's hand lotion. Seems like exchanging presents anymore is a mine field of how much should I spend, will they know how much I spend or I am fresh out of original ideas? Not much fun. That's why I created this five-part series looking at gift giving from a little different angle as heard on "Portland's Morning News". I hope it gives you fresh energy and ideas to make your holidays more precious. Take a listen to "Thinking Outside The Gift Box". |

Anatomy of a Wilderness Drug Bust
$120 million of pot was the largest illegal marijuana bust in Oregon history. This past summer, federal, state, and local agents arrested eight people who were tending and guarding hundreds of thousands of marijuana plants in one of the state’s most remote locations – in the majestic Wallowa Mountains in Northeast Oregon. The Wallowa County Sheriff went on record stating that hikers should arm themselves for protection. Those arrested were put on immigration holds. What is the pot worth? Where does it go? Is this the work of drug cartels? What do the locals think? KXL reporter Dave Paull traveled to Joseph, Oregon to get answers in this four-part series. |
