Lars got his start in radio at age 16 spinning records (remember 45s?) and reading news, sports and weather (twice an hour) on KTIL (The Mighty 1590) from a little cinderblock building on the edge of a cow pasture in Tillamook, Oregon (75 miles West of Portland, Oregon).
36 years later, he’s only moved 75 miles east to Portland and light years to “the Right”. Emmy and Peabody award winner Lars Larson brings nearly four decades of experience as a radio and television journalist to the microphone for six hours of the best talk radio in America. Six hours of daily prep keep The Lars Larson Show on top of the news and top-of-mind for listeners across the country.
Along the way, Lars has worked for more than a dozen radio stations and five television stations. Today, Lars holds down the fort from 12pm – 4pm on Radio Northwest flagship FM NEWS 101 KXL. His local talk show airs on seventeen stations in the Pacific Northwest (and earns him the biggest local talk radio audience in the region).
With the delay of the employer mandate, and backlash from the unions, we;re seeing ObamaCare unravel before our eyes.
We knew when this bill was passed "before we could find out what was in it," that this was going to be a bad deal for the American people. Now we're seeing just how many problems they're having just trying to implement this piece of garbage. Do they really expect the American people to be confident that this program will actually provide them with quality healthcare?
I'm sure some of you crazy libs will...but rational Americans know better.
But all these problems may be the start of the downward spiral for ObamaCare...one can only hope...
Tim Phillips from Americans For Prosperity joined me today on the program to talk about his confidence about the demise of the bill.
Portlanders are paying some of the highest water rates around, and a lot of people aren't happy about it.
Some of those people decided to take action. Calling themselves "Camp Cascadia" this group occupied an area on Mount Tabor to protest the water rates being paid by Portland residents.
We talked with Jessie Sponberg, the Outreach Coordinator for Camp Cascadia. He talked to us about what's really going on in the camp, and why they're taking a stand...
These are part of the newly launched $3.2 million ad campaign from Cover Oregon, the state's exchange to help you sign up for ObamaCare. What better way to sling a crappy healthcare plan than to have hipsters sing songs about all the pretty things in Oregon.
It's just another example of how the government is trying to trick Americans into signing up for a healthcare plan that is going to bankrupt America
Here is why I think he is still in trouble: If you look at the facts in this case, you'd easily see that it never should have gone to trial. But, despite the cops on the scene and the District Attorney seeing no reason to bring charges against Zimmerman, but it happened anyway.
Witness after witness for the prosecution appeared more like witnesses for the defense. When it came time for the defense to state it's case, they asked the judge to end the case because the state had failed to prove the charge brought against Zimmerman. But the judge allowed the case to go on.
Why has all this happened? There is one reason, and one reason only: RACE!
If Zimmerman had shot a white guy that night, we wouldn't be having a trial. Because Trayvon Martin was a young BLACK man, and Zimmerman is what CNN is describing as a "white hispanic", there was an uproar from several high level members of the black community including President Obama, Eric Holder, and Al Sharpton. Before we knew it, Zimmerman had been charged and now faces spending the majority of his life behind bars...all for defending himself.
If you need more proof, look no further than this statement made by Prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda during closing arguments in which he refers to their star witness Rachel Jeantel:
“I had a dream … that today, a witness would be judged not on the color of her personality, but the content of her testimony,” Mr. Rionda told the jury.
The invocation of MLK is just another way to inject race into this case, and to further drive home their theory that Zimmerman was a racist...
America is a nation of laws, and it pains me to see the laws of our nation so blatantly thrown by the wayside. Every man and woman is guaranteed the right to a fair trial. But we all know that with George Zimmerman...that's practically impossible.
The GOP asked for more information from the Obama White House on the decision to delay the employer mandate, which requires that employers with more than 50 employees to provide insurance to their employees.
The White House dismissed that request today through mouthpiece Jay Carney. Here's more on that from The Hill:
White House press secretary Jay Carney on Tuesday angrily dismissed demands from GOP leaders for more information on the decision to delay ObamaCare’s employer mandate, declaring that “implementation is moving forward” on the healthcare law.
Carney said Republicans who argue the Affordable Care Act is unwieldy and unworkable had no realistic alternative to propose, and that support for the president’s legislation would be buoyed once Americans began benefitting from the law.
“The benefits that more and more Americans will gain from that implementation will make clear that the absence of an alternative put forward by House Republicans is not an alternative at all,” Carney said. “The Republican alternative is, repeal, and replace with what?”
If the law isn't ready for employers...why should we believe that it's ready for the citizens of America?
