Lars LarsonLars got his start in radio at age 16 spinning records (remember 45s?) and reading news, sports and weather (twice an hour) on KTIL (The Mighty 1590) from a little cinderblock building on the edge of a cow pasture in Tillamook, Oregon (75 miles West of Portland, Oregon).

 

36 years later, he’s only moved 75 miles east to Portland and light years to “the Right”. Emmy and Peabody award winner Lars Larson brings nearly four decades of experience as a radio and television journalist to the microphone for six hours of the best talk radio in America. Justice Could Be Knox-ing At The Door


Amanda Knox is going to be retried for murder in Italy, and I think it's a great move. In my eyes she's guilty based on the evidence that was given by the prosecution.

The problem is that Americans love to fall in love with stories like this. They love to be riveted. The media loves the story of the attractive young defendant and the mystery and intrigue that goes along with it, which can lead to a skewed view of what is actually going on.

Legal Analyst Wendy Murphy says that if you just look at all the evidence, it's a fairly open and shut case...

Naysayer John wants you to buy a solar powered bike


If you're unfamiliar with the concept of SBA loans, here is a basic rundown:

They are government insured small business loans funded by the taxpayers. On top of the lack of a penalty if the loan goes unpaid, if the business taking out the loan can't make the payments on the loan, the taxpayers are left on the hook for the unpaid balance. 

To put it simply, it's another terrible government program that wastes taxpayer dollars.

I talked a little about SBA loans on my show today and a naysayer named John was kind enough to call in to sing the praises of SBA loans. John also says that he plans to take out an SBA loan for an amount upwards of $100,000 to work an idea for solar powered bikes...

I think John made a great case for why SBA loans are a bad idea. What do you think?

Have You Ever Wondered What It Might Take For Terrorists To Take Over The White House?


The White House may be the most secure building on the planet. But as we've seen in the past, almost any secure building can be taken over given the right circumstances.

So, what would need to happen for terrorists to take over the White House? Ricky Jones, a counter terrorism consultant, was charged with figuring out that very scenario while working on the movie "Olympus Has Fallen."

Kicked Out Because He Didn't Like Planned Parenthood?


What happens when a teacher takes a personal stand against an organization they find to be immoral? According to Bill Diss, it cost him his job at Benson High School.

We talked with Bill a few weeks ago, and he said that he was being setup by Portland Public Schools because of his stand against planned parenthood. 

Bill called me today and said that he was being placed on administrative leave by the district, and that he was escorted out of the building by a police officer.

We called Portland Public Schools, and they declined comment because it's a personnel matter.

Be Careful What You Post On Facebook


Whether it costs you a job, or admission to that college you dreamed of going to, we've all seen examples of how things someone might post on facebook can come back to haunt you.

The latest example comes from New Jersey, where a man posted a picture of his 11-year-old son holding an early birthday present: a .22 rifle that looks more like an AR-15. This led to what can only be described as a scary, unexpected confrontation. 

Here is the account of the events from the father himself:

"Last night I was out with a buddy of mine. I got a text from my wife that the cops and Dept of youth and family services (dyfs) are at the house and they wanna check out my guns and needed me to open my safe. I’m instantly on my way. I get in contact with Evan Nappen (Lawyer) on the way. I explain the situation. I walk in my house and hand the phone to the first cop I see. Then direct all of em outside. dyfs got a call because of a pic on facebook of my son holding a gun. They wanted to look around and check all my guns out, make sure they were all registered. Obviously that didn’t go well because I refused. I had Nappen on speaker phone the entire time so they had to deal with both of us. They kept trying to pressure me to open my safe. They had no warrant, no charges, nothing. I didn’t budge. I was told I was being “unreasonable” and that I was acting suspicious because I wouldn’t open my safe. Told me they were gonna get a search warrant. Told em go ahead. Nappen (my lawyer) asked me for the dyfs workers name. she wouldnt give it. i asked for credentials and she wouldnt show em. i tried to take a pic of her and she turned around real fast and walked away. After a while of them threatening to take my kids, get warrants and intimidation they left. Empty handed and seeing nothing. People it can happen that fast. Most people wouldn’t have stood up to them like I did."

That means that based on a random call from someone who saw the picture online, DYFS and the police saw fit to try and confront this man. This should send a chill down your spine. This man knew his rights, and knew what these people could and could not do without a search warrant. The sad thing is that many do not know their rights and would give in to such threats and requests. 

I have a feeling that you're going to start going to seeing events like this on a more frequent basis as the government tries to put your second amendment rights in a choke hold. 

If this story does anything, it should make you want to know what your rights are in the event that you're faced with a similar situation. My advice is to educate yourself, so that you can protect yourself like this man did.

I always wonder what reaction I will get whenever I bring up marijuana or laws related to it. I always run the risk of waking up the 420 crowd, who stand up for their right to toke day in and day out.

Today I brought up the fact that Oregon lawmakers are considering legalizing and taxing marijuana. It all went up in smoke from there. 

I took a plethora of calls on everything from marijuana in the work place, to people who had alternate ideas for testing for the drug. Whenever the 420 crowd gets riled up, I usually get a few priceless calls, and I wanted to share one of them with you.

I got a call from a nice young lady named Sarah, who started telling me about her fiance, a medical marijuana patient, who was arrested for possession...
