Lars got his start in radio at age 16 spinning records (remember 45s?) and reading news, sports and weather (twice an hour) on KTIL (The Mighty 1590) from a little cinderblock building on the edge of a cow pasture in Tillamook, Oregon (75 miles West of Portland, Oregon).
36 years later, he’s only moved 75 miles east to Portland and light years to “the Right”. Emmy and Peabody award winner Lars Larson brings nearly four decades of experience as a radio and television journalist to the microphone for six hours of the best talk radio in America. Six hours of daily prep keep The Lars Larson Show on top of the news and top-of-mind for listeners across the country.
Along the way, Lars has worked for more than a dozen radio stations and five television stations. Today, Lars holds down the fort from 12pm – 4pm on Radio Northwest flagship FM NEWS 101 KXL. His local talk show airs on seventeen stations in the Pacific Northwest (and earns him the biggest local talk radio audience in the region).

Sometimes One Sentence Is EnoughDr. Barbara Ruth Bellar sums up the ironies and hypocrisies of ObamaCare in one sentence. It’s 132 words long and takes about a minute to get out, but it’s still one sentence. Here's the transcript of Dr. Bellar's one-sentence wonder:
“We’re going to be gifted with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and
fined if we don’t, which purportedly covers at least 10 million more people without
adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS
agents written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t
understand it, passed by a Congress that didn’t read it, but exempted
themselves from it, and signed by a president who smokes … same
sentence … with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay
his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years before any
benefits take effect by the government, which has already bankrupted Social
Security and Medicare — all to be overseen by a Surgeon General who
is obese, and financed by a country that’s broke.” I couldn't agree more. We have this health care bill that the majority of Americans don't want rammed down our throats. It's going to cost us billions of dollars...possibly trillions. And we could lose a huge majority of doctors because of the changes to the system. If only the people on Capitol Hill could use the same common sense that Dr. Bellar used to write that sentence. |
Remembering Don McIntires of Oregonians whose taxes were reduced by literally BILLIONS of dollars because of the tireless efforts of this man. He advocated for limited government, free markets, and personal liberty for Americans. Don spent his own time, his own money and his blood, sweat and tears on ballot measures that improved the lives of Oregonians...many of whom never met the man or knew him. His great friend Greg Clapper told me today that he and Don went hunting last week, had a great time, and he seemed well. A heart attack took his life the state of Oregon is missing one of its citizen heroes today. ![]() Here is an interview I did with Don a couple of years ago. I hope you enjoy it! |
Brown Mark On Voter Ballots....It says right there in black and
white that on election night, immediately after 8 oclock, you must destroy all
of the unused ballots. And you can see
why.
All those extra ballots might just
tempt folks from a political party that shall remain nameless…to monkey around
with the vote count till their candidate wins. But Brown refuses to do it citing the need to have those ballots for
recounts. We've seen too many issues like hanging chads and people's interpretations of what they think the voters wanted to do... I'm not surprised that the Oregonian has endorsed Brown's opponent... |
AP-solutely Embarassing! The AP has done something that has got me so irked, that I'm embarrassed that I'm a former member. I talked about it at length during my Northwest show today, and I thought I would share it with you. |
Boondoggles-A-PlentyOf course, that pushing has been
paid for by more than a million of your tax dollars. And Sam’s Sustainability Center needed tens
of millions of dollars in public subsidies.
Thankfully, the brain trust at the Oregon Legislature refused to fund
this boondoggle. Estimates said that the
building…even with subsidies, would cost so much that to rent an office space
would have cost you 40 percent more than renting in a privately owned class A building. Energy restrictions were so tough that
vendors wouldn't be allowed to cook food for tenants…so no star bucks. Temperatures would have been allowed to soar
to 75 degrees in the summer…and go down to 68 degrees in the wintertime. All of this to “show the world” that
sustainability makes sense. And this is
why taxpayers should watch carefully for these Solyndra like boondoggles. If it doesn't work without subsidies…it shouldn't happen at all.

Smell That? Smells Like A Cheating President...We're down to the home stretch in this election. We more than likely won't see another jobs report until after the election. It seems a little odd that, at the time when it would most benefit the President, the jobs numbers have miraculously changed in his favor, albeit only by a small margin. I don’t trust the new jobs numbers. 800,000 people went to work per a
survey. How many are part time, working seasonal jobs that will be gone after the Christmas holday? 114,000 new jobs created, unemployment up 7.8 percent and the labor
participation rate is up... Something about this stinks, and I think we all know what that is. It's just a little TOO convenient that these "positive" numbers would come out so close to the election, and right after the President's drubbing in the first debate...
