Lars got his start in radio at age 16 spinning records (remember 45s?) and reading news, sports and weather (twice an hour) on KTIL (The Mighty 1590) from a little cinderblock building on the edge of a cow pasture in Tillamook, Oregon (75 miles West of Portland, Oregon).
36 years later, he’s only moved 75 miles east to Portland and light years to “the Right”. Emmy and Peabody award winner Lars Larson brings nearly four decades of experience as a radio and television journalist to the microphone for six hours of the best talk radio in America. Six hours of daily prep keep The Lars Larson Show on top of the news and top-of-mind for listeners across the country.
Along the way, Lars has worked for more than a dozen radio stations and five television stations. Today, Lars holds down the fort from 12pm – 4pm on Radio Northwest flagship FM NEWS 101 KXL. His local talk show airs on seventeen stations in the Pacific Northwest (and earns him the biggest local talk radio audience in the region).

Benghazi Fever. Do You Have It?Four Americans dead, the President lies and blames
it on a videotape and then the truth starts leaking out. Last week we learned that the White House had
a real time video feed of the attack, knew what it was that night. We know that military and CIA assets in the
region offered to help and were told to stand down. The father of the former Navy Seal who defied
those orders, ran to help and died trying, called my show demanding that the
President tell him what happed to his murdered son. The President, out on the campaign trail, has
been flatly refusing to answer questions on the matter even from those chosen
few given an interview. And now there’s
word that at least one top Pentagon General was fired for trying to send a
rapid reaction team in reply to the cries for help the white house was
ignoring. And why would Obama have done that? Think Black Hawk down two.
Letting four Americans die beat killing his re-election campaign. And now he has Watergate with a body count...

Scandal-In-The-BoxBenghazi. What do we know today about the murders of
four Americans and the first assassination of an ambassador in thirty
years. We know that there were CIA assets on the ground that could have helped.
We know that Tyrone Woods, whose father called this show earlier this
week, disobeyed orders and ran a mile to help…and died. We know that the President, and secretary of
state Clinton, and ambassador Susan Rice, and Presidential spokesman Jay Carney lied. They lied about a videotape. They lied that it was an out of control mob
of protesters. They lied by omission
that it was not terrorism. And today we
know there was help an hour away. That CIA operatives in the area were ordered to stand down. That lasers had been trained on the Islamic
militants that could have guided in an attack by Americans…and they were not
used. And the President is silent. He won’t answer the key questions…and he’s
urging Americans to vote early.
Why? Because he knows that if
they get to hear what’s coming out now…and in the next ten days…they’ll decide
they can’t vote for a commander in chief who wont command.

Obama's Silence Says Enough...Today, Megyn Kelly invited me on her show to talk about the
call I received from Charles Woods, father of Tyrone Woods, the former Navy
SEAL who gave his life protecting our Ambassador in Benghazi. I have a few
questions for the president. I have the same questions that my
audience had today. When did the President know that our consulate was under
attack? Who else was watching? We now know there was help available just an
hour away that wasn’t called in. Who made that decision? The President needs to answer for the mistakes that cost the lives of four Americans. Charles Woods and the families of Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, and Ambassador Chris Stevens deserve answers. |
Even After 37 Years...Even I Can Still Be BreathlessYesterday, I got a call out of the blue from the father of one
of the Americans who was murdered in Benghazi, Libya. Charles Woods explained that he never calls talk shows, but
was upset over news he had heard and just decided to call me. He talked about his son, Tyrone Woods, who was killed along with Ambassador Chris Stevens and two other Americans who were trying to save the life of the Ambassador. After 37 years, there are still days that this business
takes your breath away. |
Dreams Of A Real Leader...So the president disparaged Romney’s point that we’re headed for a tiny Navy, that we've thrown our allies like Israel and Poland under the bus, and have been far t oo accommodating to rivals like China, Russia, Iran and Muslim radicals. Romney played it cool and looked Presidential. Romney’s smart enough to agree with the President on policies he’s right on. Obama said he didn't come up with sequestration defense cuts…and that’s not true. The President denied he wanted to leave troops in Iraq when in fact he assigned Loony Veep Biden to get it done…and he couldn't. Obama says he’ll deny Iran a nuke but Iran is now four years closer to the bomb. And the President claims Romney would have denied help to Detroit in the auto company mess but in fact Romney wanted government loan guarantees to the auto companies. And the President’s goofy comment that Romney should know we don’t use bayonets anymore…every marine can tell you he gets a bayonet with his rifle and he knows how to use it. A real commander in chief would know that, if we had one. |
Revolt-ing WasteI've been talking about this outfit since April of 2010. It seemed like a scam back then and the news
Friday that Revolt is headed for bankruptcy confirms it for me. Revolt has its
headquarters in Europe. But nearly three
years ago, disgraced congressman David Wu conned the congress out of five
million bucks for revolt which he bragged would create hundreds of jobs in
Oregon making high tech batteries for cars.
Senators Wyden and Merkley backed him up. The truth is Revolt has never made a battery for
sale. The company’s own website admits
it plans to first make a hearing aid battery, then one for cell phones, someday
batteries for bicycles and way down the road batteries for electric cars. What the company was good at was raising tens
of millions from European governments and trying to get it from ours. it rented an office in Portland and hired 18
people. Now the money’s gone and there
are still no batteries.
