RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Washington state authorities say a police officer shot a naked man suspected of pointing a gun at customers in businesses.

KCPQ-TV reports that the police say the Renton Police officer fired at the man Tuesday when he raised his gun toward the officer.

Police say officers told the man to drop the gun before he was shot, but he refused.

Police say he appears to be in serious, but stable condition.

An investigation is underway and is blocking on-ramps to Interstate 405 from northeast 44th Street in Renton.

Authorities have not released any additional information including the names of businesses the man was in.
