RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – A U.S. Congressional delegation, which includes Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley, is in Saudi Arabia.
The group consists of Merkley, Senate Foreign Relations Committee member Ben Cardin, Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey, and Colorado Senator Cory Gardner. They are expected to meet with King Salmon on Monday ahead of President Barack Obama.
Obama is due to visit Saudi Arabia on April 21st and will attend a Gulf Cooperation Council Summit.
The delegation also met on Sunday in Doha with Qatar’s ruler, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
