Man Arrested For Yelling Racial Slurs at Black Teen In Beaverton

Beaverton, Or. –  A 37 year old Washington County man has been arrested for yelling racial slurs at and threatening physical harm to a black teenage girl. Beaverton Police say it happened Monday when Samuel Corbett and the 17 year old were walking along TV Highway near SW Murray.

 

Officer Jeremy Shaw says people stopped in traffic got out of their cars to help the teen. Corbett faces charges of intimidation, harassment, menacing and disorderly conduct.

Beaverton Police Chief Jim Monger says  “this type of crime won’t be tolerated in our community, which is evident by the response from our community members. Thank you for standing up against racism.”
