Every Thanksgiving, you see the same UL Labs video about the horrific result of improperly deep frying a turkey. It is hot and dangerous work, no doubt about it. I found this very well written article, that contains some great tips for people who are planning on deep frying a turkey this year. Please read it before you pull out your fryer.
Fresh berries and a splash of balsamic flavor this summery spritzer.
1 1/2 oz. Pickpocket soda syrup
Combine ingredients into an ice-filled glass, stir and garnish.
Bring strawberry purée, sugar, water and lemon juice and zest to a boil. Reduce to simmer, add basil and vinegar. Simmer for 20 minutes, cool to room temperature then filter through a fine-mesh strainer.
Add 1 1/2 oz. of syrup to 4-5 oz. of soda water. Garnish with a mint sprig.
So my buddy Billy Bob, of the Bait & Tackle fame, purchased a bottle of Everclear. Thought he'd have some fun with it. He did some research and found this Libation recipe for it:
INGREDIENTS: 1oz each of Everclear, Bailey's Irish Cream, Butterscotch Schnapps, Kahlua, Ameretto.
PREPARATION: In a bar mixing glass filled with ice, all of the ingredients and stir to blend. Pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a small sprig of mint.
